Help Rune Win EuroGamer's Gaming Globe Award!
by Gwynhala [11:19 pm PT - Feb. 26, 2001]
EuroGamer today launched its second annual Gaming Globe
awards, which recognise excellence in a range of different fields within PC game development, from sound and visual effects to storyline and overall game design. Think of it as the gaming industry's answer to the Oscars.
Rune made EuroGamer's short list in the Character Design and Visual Effects categories. Over the next two weeks you can see all of the nominees, and tell EuroGamer what dorks they are for not nominating Rune in more categories, using their on-line article and feedback system.
Well over a thousand people took part in last year's Gaming Globes, and John "Gestalt" Bye over at EuroGamer is hoping for an even bigger turnout this year...let's blow him away!

Rune Model Import Tutorial and Pygmalion 0.2
by Gwynhala [4:23 am PT - Feb. 13, 2001]
Gwynhala just released Version Alpha 0.2 of Pygmalion Animator, a tool for importing and exporting meshes, textures, and (soon) animations from Rune. This release lets Windows NT / Windows 2000 users bring multiply-skinned meshes into Rune from .3DS, .OBJ, or .MD2 files. It can also export Rune meshes to .OBJ files, and view animations from Rune, Quake 2, and Heretic II. A separate tutorial download offers instructions, content, and sample code that imports a brain mesh to use as a food item in Rune.

Rune Model Import Tutorial: I'd like one of those, too!
In related news, Gwynhala recently opened a Rune 3D modeling site here on RuneNews.com, and has since received nearly a dozen offers of work as a male model. Are't cookies and context-insensitive web page scrubbers great?
